The original source of the Markers is not known and may never be revealed.
There’s a lot of mystery surrounding the monolithic structures called “Markers” but I think there’s enough information in the various sources of Dead Space media that hint at, at least, some of what is going on. Warning: This entry contains spoilers for the Dead Space series. Since Visceral Games is no more, I guess this is a good a time as any to dig this entry up, dust it off and finish what I started. According to the revision logs, I originally started typing this up back in March 2013, a month after Dead Space 3 came out.
